Dryland Training is an accompanying, mandatory program for all STARSkaters and PreStar Group skaters which runs for the length of the season, from Monday, September 8 to Tuesday, March 31. The package works like a membership, valid for the full Fall and Winter session. Skaters are encouraged to attend even if they are not skating on those days.

Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, 5:45 - 6:15 pm

Fridays 5:30 – 6:00 pm

Sundays, 12:00 – 1:00 pm

Dryland training plays a vital role in a skater’s development. It allows coaches to break down techniques for jumps (with the help of our off-ice harness), spins (using our specialized spinners), and other key elements—making on-ice execution smoother and more confident. These sessions go beyond technique. Athletes will engage in goal-setting workshops, learn about proper nutrition, and participate in strength-building exercises designed to support a healthy, balanced lifestyle. Improved technique, enhanced flexibility, and increased strength not only boost performance—they’re essential for injury prevention too!

Extra Morning Ice Training is also available for StarSkaters who desire extra edges, jumps and spins training. Coaching and ice time is included in registration fees.

Wednesdays 6:30 - 7:30 am (Fall 2025: October 1 – December 10 & Winter 2026: January 7 - March 18)

Fridays 6:30 - 7:30 am (Fall 2025: October 3 – December 12 & Winter 2026: January 9 - March 20)

Choose a training schedule that can help your skater train the recommended number of hours, with the support of coaches who know exactly how to inspire and motivate them! Please keep in mind that the Long Term Athlete Development Plan (LTADP) from Skate Canada recommends the following:

7-11 years old skate 2-4 days a week 30-40 weeks a year

9-13 years old skate 4-5 days a week 1-2 sessions a day 40-46 weeks a year

10-16 years old skate 5 days a week 2-3 sessions a day 44-48 weeks a year
